New For 2015

Postby Johnlloyd » 08 Apr 2015, 12:15

Here are some things that are new for 2015 other than Typhoon and Splash Station.

It has been confirmed that there are now VIP Cabana Rentals available in Splashworks for the 2015 season. Also, there will be All New shows at International Showplace for the 2015 season as well. So, it will be a whole summer of new entertainment at Canada's Wonderland this year so, don't miss out on these wonderful new shows! 8)

Quite a surprise this morning! I love all the variety in the shows, and it's about time we got VIP Cabanas! I'm most excited about The West Coast Lumberjack Show, as it's something I've been wanting since I found out about the Frontier Canada plans that never came to be. It's like they read my comments on here or something! ;) The Chinese Acrobats also seem cool, as well as the Ultimate Thrills Circus! I've heard good things about Cedar Point's All Wheels Extreme Show, so I look forward to checking out XTreme Wheels Stunt Show. The dog show is not appealing to me though. I've seen others and I just find them boring...

But that's not all! There's going to be a Food Truck Festival, Petting Zoo in Camp Spooky, a two day beach party to kick off Splash Works (whatever that means), and an Oktoberfest event in the fall!

I love all of this! I had written a list of the different areas of the park and which ones needed the most improvements. Theming and Entertainment were at the top of my list, along with food! Our International Festival area is becoming more International with tons of live shows and events (and a few food bonuses too)! And we can't forget that this will help get people returning to the park throughout the season to make sure they see everything (or at least everything they want), which is always good! For an "off-year" we are seeing tons of park wide improvements across the board (rides, slides, shows, events, food, and theming). :D

[Also note that there's only one show scheduled in Kingswood Music Theatre. Obviously they could add more as the season goes on, but still interesting as a side note that it seems to have less and less of a purpose at the park. I give it five to ten years max, after they finish with SkyRider's land. ;) ]

Well Ty-rant_13, there may be more events announced for Kingswood Music Theatre as there are "More Events Coming Soon!". So, they may have plans to use Kingswood Music Theatre more this year, which would be nice to see. But, Canada's Wonderland is definitely full of surprises this year compared to any other year! There are definitely many events to see and do this year. 8)

Long time no see gang. Surprised that no-one has mentioned the slingshot being added.

We've talked about it in the rumours thread, since it wasn't officially announced. I don't know if we still need-to/should do that though...

Well, the new Slingshot still hasn't been officially announced by Canada's Wonderland yet even though you can see it while driving by but, it's still a "rumour" until Canada's Wonderland announces it. 8)

Thye 2015 park map hasn't been released yet on Canada's Wonderland's website yet but, I think it should be either today or within the next week as they had released the 2014 park map this time last year. But, they may not release it until Slingshot is officially announced. 8)

Speaking of maps, does the park sell a large poster version of the park map???

I don't think so, unfortunately. The only large maps they hand out are the ones you can get for free at the front gate or really anywhere throughout the park. 8)

I also noticed some name changes and renovations for dining and shopping locations while looking at Canada's Wonderland's website. The Roadside Deli in White Water Canyon has changed its name to Roadside Chicken. Also, the Splash Surf Shop located within Splashworks has been renovated for the 2015 season. I believe those are all the renovations and names changes we'll be seeing this year for dining and shopping locations at Canada's Wonderland. 8)

Poop, I was hoping for something significantly larger (in the 20x30 range) and with less fold marks...

Maybe if you ask the park for a wall map, similar to the one they have in Guest Services... 8)

Glad to hear there's going to be some work done to the Splash Shop! It definitely needed it! There's also apparently going to be a funnel cake shop in Planet Snoopy where you can get rainbow sprinkles! I think I'll try that this year! I thought it was odd the park map hadn't been released yet, but that's because I saw the date when Dave Phillips posted the preview of the 2014 map, rather than the final version. Should be any day now!
