Action Theatre Future???

Post by minebusterfan » 31 Dec 2009, 00:16

You all know the 3-D Theatre in the White Water Canyon vicinity(I think), and there's the Planet Snoopy construction because Cedar Fair did not have the rights to Nick characters, right? That theatre shows a Spongebob movie, but I wonder what they are going to do with it since Spongebob is gone for good. They got 3 options:

1. Remove it*

2. Close it off and leave it like the Dolphin Arena

3. Turn it into a new ride

P.S: *means my prefered doing

Now this might not be a rumour but I think it falls into that category. :D
Coaster Count-
Minebuster- 29
Behemoth- 16
Windseeker-3

Looks like P2K12 is really picking up!

They will add a new movie. It makes the most sense.

they will probably just put in a generic attraction like Dino Island.

I would not want it removed.. we need more indoor rides!

That would be 5 parks in the Cedar Fair chain, without 3D a ride. I would not be surprised if they left the building empty to save a couple of bucks.

It has been mentioned a few times in the past when the Planet Snoopy announcement was made, but nobody really made a discussion out of it because more of us CW Maniacs were more interested in hoping for another announcement.

It is a good question. My guess is that they develop a Snoopy based show. SpongeBob was too popular to remove and that is the reason it aired for six years as this was mentioned at the Behemothon 2.0. I have a hard time seeing them giving up on the theatre due to its popularity, but I do think it has little time left.

There are looking for storage space if you didn't notice all the Haunt stuff being hidden in the WWC area, so that is another guess of mine.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, Snoopy isn't the most popular with kids these days. I guess that if they see a drop in attendance at that theatre they will most likely close it down. Snoopy is more popular with the older crowd that lived through the Peanuts era. The theatre will most likely not do well.

The thing that I like about the theatre is that (I'm not sure about all the time but) when it was chilly outside, we went in that attraction and it was nice and warm, and the seats too! =) Haha, but other than that, I don't really care for it, unless maybe they showed a new, better show.

There is also blockbuster Yogi Bear film coming next December followed by a Smurfs movie in 2011. HB will never die away. Nick and HB was a great combo to serve adults and children in the kiddie section. I know Nick was too expensive, but I still would prefer HB over Peanuts. There was so much more they could have done with Yogi, Jetsons and the Flintstones in addition to the already popular Scooby. But I guess we are not a theme park anyways.

So I guess any way you look at it. This was a bad move by CF. It wouldn't be the first!

In CW Mania's questions sent to Wonderland PR we asked specifically about 3d theatre. Hopefully in the new year the park will be more forthcoming with details. As soon as we hear anything from them, we'll get it posted to the site.

I can't really imagine that because Snoopy doesn't really have an antagonist in it.

^If they can have a plot of SpongeBob looking for a pickle, then I am sure they will find something for Snoopy. The real question is if they are going to do it.
