Universal Studios - Orlando, FL

Post by teenagedirtbag » 08 May 2015, 13:09

Universal Orlando partnered up with Nintendo to create new Theme Park Attractions.

Here is the link from Universal's site

What are your thoughts?
I think this is a great idea! I can just imagine a Mario Kart themed go karts and a GateKeeperish (Cedar point) ride themed to Star Fox.

There's just so many options! Never been to universal but from what I hear about wizarding world of harry potter they do an amazing job and Nintendo's attention to detail is impeccable. This is going to be a great collaboration!

I can hardly contain my excitement.

I think they'll do a very good job of it...

I've got a loose plan of the parks I'm going to hit over the next few years, and I might bump my planned visit down the road until this is complete as I'd hate to miss out on getting my picture taken with Yoshi...

And if this happens, we should be allowed to throw bananas at other drivers :P

This would be very interesting.

Perhaps Nintendo can open up another Nintendo World Store in Universal Orlando (after all, it would provide a great alternative to the one in Manhattan and plush Kirby toys for example can be very difficult to find in Florida otherwise).

I bet that there would be an interactive 4D dark ride based on various Kirby games as well.

I would also like to see a roller coaster based on Zelda or Metroid as well.

There would be entertainers dressed up as various Nintendo characters. The one who dresses up as Rosalina would be a hit, especially given how similar she is to Elsa from Frozen.

I would rather see a rainbow road themed coaster. I've never seen any cars in Zelda. But then again I don't play Zelda so what do I know

Turns out that Universal Studios of Japan will open a Nintendo section: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/0 ... 0_olympics

It would be open before the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

However, the Orlando version is still to be determined.

The rumor now is that Nintendo Land will open in this order: Japan, Hollywood and then Orlando. Some speculate that Nintendo Land could be part of Universal's rumored 4th gate (Volcano Bay is being considered a 3rd gate).
Haunt is gone.
Behemoth Ride Count: 89

Given the success of the Kirby Café in Nagoya and Osaka (yes, they exist), there might be a Kirby Café in various Universal Studios properties that have Nintendo Land.

Here is the Kirby Café's official website: http://kirbycafe.jp/
