Still enjoying ride of his life

Postby DantheMan » May 06, 2007 8:39 pm

excerpt from The Plain Dealer on http://www.Cleveland.com

Q: If you were rating your 12 parks in terms of importance to Cedar Fair, which are most responsible for driving the company forward?

A: The foundation is Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm. Those are our two most profitable parks. Knott’s Berry Farm is open year round and that’s our highest-attendance park, but Cedar Point is our highest- profit park. Canada’s Wonderland is right up there as a very profitable park, and Kings Dominion and Kings Island.

Going forward, the emphasis is going to be on our major metropolitan areas. Cedar Point will continue to get a major ride every two or three years. You can’t give up what you already have.

Canada’s Wonderland is a great opportunity for us. That one is probably the jewel we really didn’t know how good it was until after we acquired it.

Woot! Go Canada's Wonderland, now that he said that, many, many ideas came to my mind. I'm getting a little excited!

I really like that they think they have something good with CW. I honestly think the park has a lot of potential even though on the world stage it is viewed as a mediocre park at best. I'm really hoping that Cedar Fair can realize this and do something.

I would agree. And lucky for me, it was like that from the first day when the park opened.

But now, being totally selfish  and much older, I wish they would rip all the kiddie stuff out (execpt Silver Streak, I think it's the best "small person" coaster ever made).
